Author Anita Wills, spent over thirty years reconstructing her families lost history. This book is about those in her family who had extraordinary achievements, such as Elijah Johnson, one of the settlers of Liberia. The search is complicated by the multiracial lines that Ms. Wills had to work with. The task is to document the oral history passed down through so many generations. The result is an amazing family history of a people who were labeled, Indian, Mulatto, Colored, Negro, black, and now African American.
